Univ-Prof. Dr. Gregory Kopp
Greg has built numerous space-, aircraft-, balloon-, and ground-based instruments for studying the Sun, Earth's climate, and Earth-energy balance. These have provided the most radiometrically accurate and precise solar-irradiance measurements ever made. His research includes solar variability and climate influences. He is a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Colorado with a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University and a B.S. in physics from Caltech. His research includes solar and stellar variability and space-borne instrumentation to benchmark Earth-climate measurements via on-orbit radiometric accuracy. He enjoys running, biking, hiking, whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, traveling, and inquisitive minds.
