Veronika Witzke
Work Profile and Research Interests
Veronika is working on understanding stellar atmospheres and how magnetic fields manifest in them through numerical calculations using the MURaM code. Her work involves continuously improving three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (3D MHD) simulations that incorporate radiative transfer. Additionally, she develops and maintains the MPS-ATLAS code, which enables the calculation of detailed (high-resolution and low-resolution) spectra from 3D MHD cubes.
Research Interests:
• 3D MHD
• Magneto-convection
• Turbulence
• Radiative transfer
Qualifications:
I obtained my PhD from City, University of London, where I worked on compressible 3D MHD simulations of the tachocline region in stars. Following that, I conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, focusing on stellar atmospheres in both 1D and 3D. Since October 2024, I have been working as a Senior Scientist at Uni Graz.
